Currently Black and Gold is set after Edward and Bella have met, and he has just got home. The pack at the moment are non-existent and Sam is the only one so far to have transformed. Things shall move on, as and when threads are done. Characters we are currently looking for are the Denali clan, any member of the pack and students at Forks High School. If you are interested in any of them, we urge you to sign up and join in with the site. Characters we are currently not accepting, are any original vampires – excluding Volturi vampires – or werewolves, as it goes against the story that we are following. They shall open up as the story develops.

PICTURE YOURSELF IN A BOAT ON THE RIVER
with tangerine trees and marmalade skies
It had been a strange sort of day, and the evening had on some extents been a disaster. Still they where all here talking, the girl was safe, and Edward had decided to head straight to Denali, rather than hang in Forks for a moment. For that Alice was glad, but she could not stop herself drifting off and watching what was heading her brother’s way, and if there was any chance that he was coming back anytime soon. As even though they annoyed the hell of each other at times, the connection between them was still strong, and Alice did not like the idea of being separated from him. Still it was the right thing to do, and she just had to get on with things, mainly keeping Jasper away from the girl. For if she was strong enough to do this to Edward, Alice worried what the girls could do to her true love.

Shifting her little body on the puff, her mind snapped back to reality as Emmet suggested hunting. The idea had left her mind with the events of this afternoon; still it seemed all the more relevant to do it now. Even if Jasper refused, it was the sensible thing to do, as pushing himself like this was not good for anyone of them. Still Alice admired him for trying, for her and for him as being in the climate that he enjoyed made her and him, a lot happier. “That sounds like a great idea” her voice sounded through the room, over the low hum of a foot-ball game. “I am sure we can find some bears somewhere, if not I am sure Emmett can have some fun being taken down by a dear” laughing lightly, her legs uncrossed and she rose to her feet.

Stretching her arms above her head, Alice caught Esme’s words, and she could not help but shake her head lightly. “Esme I know your thought behind it, but I don’t think it shall be safe” Alice said, her tone a matter of fact rather than her normal bright one, as her thoughts where instantly on Jasper’s reactions to the girl’s smell if she was ever in close proximity to her. “I know she is Edward’s singer, but she could still catch anyone of us off-guard, and some of us don’t have the control of Edward and Carlisle’s standards. Best thing now is just to let Edward work through it, and hope the girl leaves, a few more rainy days might do it” she smirked, as her hands fell back to her sides.

Ready Emmett, Jasper we had better get going before all the good bears are gone” Alice joked, winking at her brother skipping from the room, knowing that they shall both follow on their own accord. Slowly danced her way up to her room, where she slid on some stronger and flatter shoes, and threw a jacket on over her loosely fitted top.

Quickly this time Alice moved from her room, and out onto the porch area where both men where waiting for direction. Neither had any inkling where their meal would be. Alice was their radar and she happy to be able to hold that card over Emmett at points. “Looks like we are heading north-east, I think we can find something up there, if not bears that at least something with a little more bite than a dear. We can’t have Emmett disappointed now can we.” Grinning to them both in turn a light “Shall we” left her lips, as her little legs moved in a quick hop, skip and a jump formation. And then she was gone in the blink of an eye off in the direction as had just pointed.

i know saint peter won't call my name ,
NEVER AN HONEST WORD, BUT THAT WAS WHEN I RULED THE WORLD .

So. What do you do when you are hungry and want some bear? YOU GO HUNTING! And that was what Emmett had planned for him and his siblings. He jumped up off the chair as Alice’s little singsong voice hit him in the ear and chucked the remote control at Rose. The Kinki Devils would have to play without him.

Hearing Esme’s comments just as he stood up, he raised an eyebrow and shook his head. ”Dude, I don’t think that would work.” He smirked. ”Chances are she smells DELICIOUS and if no one wants to do my idea of scaring her off, I think five ravenous vampires would kinda do the job for us, don’t cha think?” He smirked and slid up to his room. Nodding at Alice before almost skipping to his room. As he reached the door of the room he shared with the beautiful Rosalie, he let himself have a little grin to himself. This was all terribly exciting was it not? The thought of the chase and the fact Edward had to run off. Gosh. He was in his element. He usually found life in forks rather dull. He always thought himself more like Angel, from Buffy, stalking the streets of LA solving mysterious mysteries. Now, that was a vampire.

He reached the small room and wandered inside and towards the small wardrobe. He reached in and pulled out a rather large red jacket which he slid over his t-shirt. It felt snug on his broad shoulders and he grinned. He was very excited about the prospects, which lay ahead of him. He felt his tongue run over his lips at the thought of his favourite meal. Alice was sure to do him proud. She always did. He was lucky to have a fortune-teller for a sister.

He jumped all the stairs in go one and shouted “BOO-YA!” at the top of his voice as he landed perfectly on all-fours and smirked up at Jasper who had taken less time to get ready and was standing by the door. ”How you feeling today mate?” He asked slamming his brother on the back with the force to knock over a small elephant, of course Jasper was a lot more than a small elephant. Emmett smiled and played with a small black curl, which dropped on his forehead. ”Totally cannot wait to get some action.” He laughed. ”I have been stuck inside for tooo long.” He knew exactly what he was doing. Trying to get his brother’s mind off his ‘issues’. After tonight Jasper would feel a lot better, Emmett was sure about it, and maybe they would all feel up to finding out more about this Swan girl. Totally for Edward’s benefit mind.

“Looks like we are heading north-east, I think we can find something up there, if not bears that at least something with a little more bite than a dear. We can’t have Emmett disappointed now can we.”

Emmett shook his head rapidly. No way in hell was he being disappointed today. He wanted bear. He almost had the taste of them in his mouth. Besides, this wasn’t only a trip for him, but also for Jasper. It was important they got something big to sink their teeth into so Jasper could go for another week without giving into temptation. He grinned broadly at them both and started out the door.

Hunting. Jasper liked it and hated it at the same time. Yes, it was necessary for him, but that didn't mean he liked it. Jasper always seemed to need to hunt sooner then everyone else and he hated feeling like the weakest link. It was a feeling that he often felt though. Everyone else was much better at holding off their hunger and the vegetarian vampire lifestyle. Jasper feasted on humans for too long for this to be easy for him. When he had been with Maria, that's all he knew about -- the only lifestyle he knew. He didn't care then. After being surrounded by so much anger all the tim, Jasper didn't care about killing humans or turning humans into newborns. All he had cared about was himself and Maria. Occasionally though, he would meet such a person that he would care more about.

Back then, Jasper had met another vampire by the name of Peter. Peter was one that Maria had wanted to keep along with them. He was good, but not as good as Jasper was. He wasn't the type to brag, but he could easily have taken Peter out. Peter had fallen in love with one of the newborns and when it was time to take her out, Peter had run off with his love. Jasper couldn't bring himself to go after them and kill them, though he knew that would be what Maria would want. Peter came back years later and told him of all the new lifestyle that he and his love lived. That was the first time that Jasper had realized there was other lifestyles out there other then the one he was currently living in. Even taking up that one, Jasper still felt like the weakest link and eventually parted from the other two. Then he had found Alice and they had both joined the Cullens where he found an even better lifestyle -- still as the weakest, unfortunately.

Even if he hated such a feeling, Jasper still liked to go hunting with the rest of the coven. It was something that he had been needing to do for a few days. When Emmett had suggested going hunting, Jasper nodded along with Alice's words. It was pointless for him to refuse. He was sure he would be bothered about it until he went and Jasper was becoming extremely thirsty. It was hard going to school with a thirst. Yes, he stayed away from the majority of the school. Actually, the school tended to stay away from them. They were different and the school tended to shy away from the different. Silently, Jasper stood up as Alice did.

Jasper made a quick trip -- and it definitely was quick -- to go upstairs to grab his jacket. Standing at the door, a grin spread across Jasper's lips as he watched Emmett jump the stairs with a loud 'boo-ya'. It was hard not to be amused when you were around Emmett. "I'm alright," Jasper replied, barely moving at the hit on the back which he recieved from his brother. "Clearly not as excited as you are though." No one ever usually was as excited as Emmett was to go hunting. Jasper swung open the door as he spoke. "Lets go get you a bear." Jasper then took off after Alice.

PICTURE YOURSELF IN A BOAT ON THE RIVER
with tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Alice’s musical laugh sounded in the empty forest as she ran towards the road. Her pace was steady, as she jogged to the starting line. The journey was without a doubt going to be a race, it always was. Competition was high among their family, mainly due to Alice and Emmett, but still most of the others played along without much. It made life just that little more interesting and entertaining when you won, especially when you where beating Emmett. He was a sore looser, granted Alice could be a little bratty when she lost, but it was nothing compared to her brother. It was her prize for beating him.

Dancing up to the side of the empty road, Alice crouched down ready to pounce. Her little hands gripped the side of the road, her fading copper eyes glancing lightly to the two men to each side of her. Mischief was a light in her eyes, as she watched the two of them take their starting positions. “No rules apply for everyone but Emmett, as he needs rules cos he never plays fair” Alice giggled, sticking her tongue out at her brother. “You are looking for an open field, with a big oak tree in the middle, I have seen some bears lurking around there. So maybe Emmett might get lucky, ready?” Her eyes whipped quickly to each of them, “Set” Alice raised her legs, leaning into her hands. “Go” her voice echoed, as her figure became a blur, as she rushed off into the woods.

The feeling of freedom, alliteration and excitement flooded her every sense, as she moved in her own unique way through the forest that surrounded their home-town. Gently her ran merged into a dance as she leapt over the roots of the trees, weaved her way between the trees as in the back of her mind she watched the other two. All in all they where evenly matched; Alice did not have quite the speed of the other two as her legs where shorter, however she had the knowledge of the best root due to her talent. Still as she ran, she kept an eye on what they where doing as they had all now lost each other in the maze of the woods. However as she ran, Alice was pushed on as she felt Jasper’s exhilaration running through her emotions.

Hours past as she ran, but exhaustion never set in as that was a human trait she had left behind long ago. To Alice it would seem unnatural to be out of breath, all she had ever know was this life the constant alertness, fatigue was as foreign to her as the taste of ice-cream, or the feeling of blushing. So as the image of Emmett nearing the clearing before her, shot into her mind she gave a push and burst out into the clearing, seconds before Jasper and then Emmett.

Laughing gently she circled the clearing once, twice, three times before she ran up to the tree in the middle to join her hunting companions. “That was fun” Alice grinned, winking gently at Emmett before she continued “time for the light snack. There should be a few things around here, just got to use your noses.” Bowing gently to them both, she turned on her heal and danced off giving into her animal instincts. Alice no longer held much control over her humanity, whatever came her way or caught her appetite was simply going to die.

Emmett growled as he watched his little sister sprint to a heads start. “THAT IS UNFAIR ALICE CULLEN!” He said, knowing she would hear him even at the distance she was at. He started to run. He ran really fast trying to catch up with his sister, but she had the unfair advantage of knowing where she was going. All Emmett had was a pair of amazingly fast legs and some vague directions. He decided he would at least beat Jasper, even if beating Alice were a long shot. Losing to anyone made him cringe, but losing completely would leave him in a bad mood for months.

Emmett had always been a sore loser. That was why everyone loved him so much. It was in his nature and that made people respect him. He loved a good game of anything, and he had always been good at it. The first real present he had ever been given had been a football, a large red one, which he had taken everywhere with him from the age of six on. He had not ever let it go. In fact this football was probably the most vivid thing from his human life.

He ran across the sidewalk. Dodging idle pedestrians as they crawled around him. Running so fast he was invisible to their humanoid eyes. He chuckled deeply to himself. This was fun. He loved running. The strength and agility it gave him. He darted down the road, not allowing himself to look back or forward at his siblings, just concentrating on winning. He was determined to do it.

Emmett flew. Diving through the streets like bullet. He smiled. Remembering, with a little grievance of the days he was not able to run this fast, or be this strong. His eighteen years as a human had made him vulnerable. He had been vulnerable. As a human, he had been weak, and Emmett didn’t like feeling weak. He liked strength and agility. He liked to be the one in power. He had hated knowing he was going to die that final day. Die because he couldn’t over-power a bear. He had been weak then, he wasn’t anymore, and Bears were his favourite food. He enjoyed ripping apart their flesh. It gave himself a sense of power that he was finally beating that, which had so nearly defeated him.

Not, that he could say the same for Alice.

He sighed as he watched her shoot into the clearing, closely coming to a stop just behind her. He turned around to face her and sulked. “No fair.” He muttered again. “Fun for you perhaps. You won.” He sulked. Shaking his head rapidly. “I’m so going to find a bigger bear than you in payback, THEN I AM NOT EVEN GOING TO LET YOU HAVE ANY!” he stuck his tongue out before running full circle and into the forest before either of them could reply.

He circled the clearing, howling and smiling. He loved the hunt, the feeling of being free. He smiled and turned on his heel to the other direction. He smelt somthing. Smelt something coming from the other direction. Smelt something delicious. He smiled. Alice had been right. Bears. He raced towards the smell, excitedly. "RAWR!" He growled, following the scent, and looking behind him to see if his siblings were following. If they weren't, well, all the better for him. He spotted one, and hid behind the tree glaring. Ready to attack.

ick sorry. i think there is something wrong with me o_O

Quite honestly, Jasper felt no need to really participate in this race at all. Why? Well, Jasper Hale was known for giving into Alice Cullen extremely easy. Alice wanted to win, therefore Jasper was going to let her win. He wasn't even going to try to win. Jasper usually left the competiting to the rest of the family -- well, Alice and Emmett, at least. If Edward were here, Jasper suspected that Edward would compete as well, but Edward wasn't here. Edward wasn't even in this town. Edward wasn't even nearby. Jasper didn't even know when he would see Edward again. However, Jasper decided against thinking of such things. This hunt was supposed to get their minds off of the fact that Edward was gone and to quench Jasper's thirst so there would be no issues at school on a later day.

Jasper watched for only a second as the two phased into a blur, unseen by human eye. Jasper picked up his pace to a run as well, but wasn't running as fast as the two of them. In fact, Jasper felt as if he were merely doing a light jog. However, he truly wasn't doing such a thing for humans still could not see him. He knew the two were getting too far ahea of him though so Jasper knew eventually he would have to pick up the pace so he wasn't too behind them. Alice wouldn't tease him about it, but Emmett most likely would. That was just how he was and Jasper had known him long enough to know that would be exactly what he would do. He had known them both long enough to know neither would be able to resist the idea of competiting against one another with anything.

He moved faster, not even a scratch on him. Even though he was moving so fast, Jasper would not trip, nor would he collide into any trees. His face would not get smacked with low branches. He wouldn't collide into any other people if there happened to be any around. Jasper dodged and ducked around things, but hardly even felt it at the pace he was running. Jasper only felt the wind on his face and that itself did not even make much of an impact. One would think Jasper would become dreadfully bored, as a few Vampires became when running, but Jasper just sprouted out the feeling of exhileration. The other two most likely felt it, depending on how close he was to them and now far the emotion was spreading. Even though Alice was probably farther away from him then Emmett was, Jasper would not be surprised if Alice caught the emotions immediately. They were so in tune with one another that it just became natural.

Jasper slowed his pace as the clearing was just above. He came to a dead stop once he entered it, his brother and his wife standing in the field. Jasper didn't bother saying anything about the race, but instead took in a quiet sniff of the surrounding area, smelling the scent of the bears immediately. "It's Emmett's lucky day," Jasper said with a grin. Jasper watched as Emmet moved in the direction of what Jasper assumed was a bear. He did not follow him though; he would rather find his own bear, for Jasper doubted that this bear was alone in the surrounding area. There had to be another one nearby. Oh...and what was that? Jasper sniffed again, his eyes focused in the other direction. Yeah, Jasper knew it wouldn't be too hard to find his own.
